Coulombaud Wines
Coulombaud wines are all produced under the strict organic methods, systems and controls of the French Ecocert organisation, without the use of herbicides, pesticides or other toxic chemicals. No animal products are allowed in the filtration systems, so the wine is also suitable for Vegans.
Coulombaud Rouge
The ambition from the start of the revival of this ancient vineyard has been to produce superior red wines, largely based on the Syrah/ Shiraz grape, akin to the quality, character and sheer warmth of the famous wines of the northern Rhone region of France. Our ambition has been rewarded with our red wines achieving top Gold Medal (Medaille d’Or) awards in 2017 and 2018.
The success of the reds has led to further development of the production of barrel aged versions of both the 2017 and 2018 cuvées. Neither are as yet on sale, but early tastings suggest further progress has been made on the road to achieving the quality of the finest Syrah based wines.
Our wines are deep cherry red, but are not opaque, and reflect the warmth of the southern sun. They are very much “fruit forward” in character, with black cherry and raspberry aromas and flavours, complemented by a velvety feel and spice driven finish.
The red wines combine beautifully with red meat, game, cheeses of all kinds and spicy food.

Coulombaud Rose
Rosé is the great wine of the Provençal summer . Now known and appreciated globally , and increasingly appreciated all year round , Provençal Rosé , as a category , seems well on its way to becoming one of the worlds favourite wines.
Coulombaud Rosé is light coloured , fresh and full of red fruit flavours. The wine is Syrah based , and with AOC certification , as opposed to the Cinsault base of so many Rosé table wines, and derived from carefully harvested hand picked and sorted grapes.
Our Rosé is given the exactly same care and attention during the vinification process as the reds, and can be ordered with a guarantee of satisfaction. It is the perfect wine to accompany lunch of almost anything on a summers day.
Coulombaud Blanc
Coulombaud White derives from an ancient vineyard sited round the remains of an ancient Iron mine, which some speculate has Roman origins ( the Romans were very active in the Var area).
It is doubtful if the presence of the remains of the mine have impacted on the dry, sharp Apricot taste of the White, but the refreshing quality of wine is in no doubt.
The grape used to produce the wine wine is Vermentino, a favourite grape widely grown in Italy , known as Rolle in the south of France, and by many other names elsewhere in the world.
This wine is superb with any kind of seafood.
